Description

COMBINED SYNOPSIS: This will be a fixed price contract with the University of Iowa to provide expertise in conducting experiments to dissect the roles of Tcf3/Tcf4 and B/y-catenin modules in regulating HSCs and LSCs. Estimated amount: $50,000.00. Anticipated period of performance: 10/1/2017 - 09/30/2018. The University of Iowa has the specific expertise needed to conduct experiments to investigate the therapeutic benefits of PGE1 in treating CML. The work cannot be conducted without utilizing the University of Iowa. The University of Iowa is providing consultation services in support of Dr. Xue s VA funded research project Merit Review #BX002903. The University of Iowa has the unique capabilities and expertise combined with the required knowledge to consult on the research questions proposed in this project. These are very specialized procedures that only the University of Iowa has the knowledge to complete. Going outside the University of Iowa would severely hamper the progress of research and impact the timeliness of research results. This project is an outgrowth of ongoing work. Market research was not conducted since this is an extension of previously conducted work and no other vendor could meet the specific requirements for this project. Dr. XUE was specifically identified on the budgets for these peer reviewed grants. This work cannot be conducted without Dr. Xue s expertise.
