- Page 1 of 1 Special Notice Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 17, Network Contracting Office 17, intends to award a firm-fixed price task order against ArjoHuntleigh, Inc VA NAC contract VA797D-50430 for procurement of the following: ROTOPRONE BED LEASE Rotoprone Therapy System - the only automated system that allows caregivers to deliver multiple intervals of prone therapy over an extended time. By automating this process, the Rotoprone Therapy System can help manage patient-handling risks associated with manual proning. SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Fully Automated Therapy System: Allows a single caregiver to safely prone a patient at the touch of a button 2. Provides prone therapy and has been clinically demonstrated to help improve oxygenation, protect against ventilator induced lung injury, and decrease mortality 3. Provides advanced kinetic therapy (bilateral rotation up to 62 degrees) has been clinically demonstrated to improve oxygenation and reduce the risk of VAP 4. Integrated Tube Management System: Helps prevent entanglement and separation during rotation between supine and prone positions 5. Hand Control Unit: Allows the caregiver to monitor lines and tubes during rotation to and from the prone position for enhanced patient safety. 6. Digital Therapy Meters: Allow caregivers to easily track daily and cumulative therapy time 7. Built in digital scale accurate to +/- 1% 8. CPR Functions (touch screen or manual) 9. Dimensions: Length (with accessories and bumpers): 93" min /101" max, Width: 41, Height (to patient surface): 35" min /46" max, Height (to top of hoop): 51" min /62" max 10. Maximum recommended patient weight: 350 lbs. Minimum recommended patient weight: 88 lbs. Total unit weight: 1,240 lbs. This notice is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No contract will be awarded based on offers received in response to this notice; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Proposals or offers received will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received by January 15, 2018 at 0900 CST from the publication of this notice, a task order will be issued to Philips Healthcare, without further notice. The anticipated statutory authority permitting limiting the source for the requirement is FAR 8.405 6(a)(1)(i)(B) - Only one source can provide the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized. Notice: the POC for this notice does not have a Federal Business Opportunities registration account. The POC does not have any visibility to the Interested Vendors List tab within the notice.
