- Market Survey. Return to Kim-Nhu Nguyen. DLA Troop Support is seeking industry feedback from interested parties concerning the manufacturing of Fibrous Glass Reinforcing Mat. The mat is fibrous glass and is described as an item composed of numerous glass fiber strands evenly distributed at random to form a uniformly thick material, then mechanically bound with thread, or chemically bound with a soluble plastic binder. The description of this material is: 581 ASTQTZ/F650; 41%;285AW;38". This material can be used for in-flight radomes on aviation, heat shields for space applications and radomes on military aviation. More specifically, this particular fibrous glass is used on a B-1B Lancer. A radome (radar and dome) is defined as a structural, weatherproof enclosure that protects a microwave (radar) antenna. NSN: 9340-01-449-7746 MAT, REINFORCING, FIBROUS GLASS HEXCEL CORP (8Y518) P/N 109866 Suppliers capable of furnishing these items must so indicate by email at kim-nhu.nguyen@dla.mil or in writing to: DLA Troop Support ATTN: FCF- Kim-Nhu Nguyen 700 Robbins Avenue Building 3 Philadelphia, PA 19111 The contractor will be required to manufacture these items and satisfy the Government's delivery requirements. Responses to this survey must include documentation citing the following: -Contractor's experience demonstrating the capability to meet the Government's requirements in producing products that meet all performance requirements, and that are physically and functionally interchangeable with presently identified item. -Quality Standard (Government or Industry) that shall be in place for this effort. -Past Performance for the same or similar items. The contractor shall submit their part numbers, NSN, or nomenclature and the date of the last manufacturing effort of the same or similar items for which they have production experience. Government contract numbers, if applicable, shall be provided. -The contractor must provide information to show it possesses, or shall possess, adequate production plant facilities (equipment, tooling, and space) to enable it, or its subcontractors, to meet production delivery requirements for these items.
