This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS and is for informational/market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, QUOTATION, OR BID, NOR A SYNOPSIS OF A PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION UNDER FAR SUBPART 5.2. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or on any follow up information. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The purpose for this synopsis is to conduct market research to help identify capable, potential sources and to establish if this requirement can be other than sole sourced. NAICS code 334519 and the size standard is 500 employees. General Information: The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS)Contracting and General Services (CGS) Region 1 has been tasked to solicit for and procure Small Temperature Recorders with the following specifications and vital capabilities. Physical Specifications: Power: 3.6V LiSOCI (lithium thionyl chloride) AA cell Clock Accuracy: +/- 60 seconds/year Depth Rating: 1700 meters Diameter: 25.4 millimeters Length: 240 millimeters Weight (air): 126 grams Weight (water): 20 grams Temperature Sensor Range: -5 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius Accuracy: +/-0.002 degrees Celsius Resolution: <0.00005 degrees Celsius Time Constant: 1.0 second Typical Stability: 0.002 degrees Celsius/year Capabilities: Endurance capability to measure sea water temperature continuously for at least Three (3) years Capability to record and store at least 25 million data points Capability to accept any type of AA battery Prospective suppliers: please document specifications and capability in response.
