- Description
- Sole Source Pre-solicitation Notice The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for the disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of one Worthington VTE pump with an option to rebuild as needed. The services provided by Cummins-Wagner Company, Inc. will be to service the VTE pump and rebuild it if necessary. The NAICS code is 811310 and the business size is $7.5 million. The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Cummins-Wagner Company, Inc. The proposed action is for services to disassemble, clean, inspect, and repair/rebuild (if necessary) one Worthington VTE pump, for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: Cummins-Wagner Company, Inc. is the only company that is authorized by Flowserve, the original distributor/manufacturer, to complete the repair work. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to Cummins-Wagner Company, Inc. using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than 19 January 2018. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by 01/19/2018, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquiries should be directed to James Valiga at james.valiga@navy.mil.
