Description

Request for Expressions of Interest The National Park Service (NPS) announces a Request for Expression of Interest (RFEI) seeking responses from individuals, educational institutions, government and quasi-governmental agencies or entities, and non-profit or for-profit organizations, interested in re-use of buildings and land at Fort Tilden East and Riis Landing in the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area ("RFEI Area"). Fort Tilden East and Riis Landing, on the eastern end of the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens, together comprise 85 acres. It is envisioned that development of these facilities will be phased in over time, in accordance with the 2014 Gateway National Recreation Area General Management Plan. Interested Applicants should focus on contributing to the park's vision of creating a Great Urban National Park experience. Interested Applicants should consider opportunities for multiple-day experiences and overnight accommodations in the form of both lodging and camping, and should also address opportunities for outdoor recreation, environmental education, arts programming, special events, and improved transportation and access.
