Description
Sole Source J&A The Baltimore District intends to procure purchase a rebuild kit for The 2nd High Spill Valve, and to provide contracted services to rebuild the 2nd High Spill Valve on behalf of the Washington Aqueduct. The Spill Valve was manufactured by Ross Valve and installed in the Dalecarlia Pump Station in 2007. The Washington Aqueduct's mission is to produce potable drinking water for the nation's capital and surrounding jurisdictions in Northern Virginia. In connection with its potable water treatment program, the Washington Aqueduct maintains water storage reservoirs in Washington DC, including the 2nd High Reservoir. This reservoir utilizes a Spill Valve to limit surging in the 2nd High Pressure zone from Pumping at the Dalecarlia Pump Station. It also provides surge protection in the event the 2nd High Reservoir is out of service. The valve was inspected on November 7th, 2017 and found to be non-functional and in need of a rebuild. The Period of Performance shall be for 15 days from date of award. The Manufacturer, Ross Valves, is the only source for the rebuild kit, and due to expedited time frame of rebuilding the non-functional valve it has been determined that both parts and the rebuild service should be obtained from the Manufacturer.
