- Gas and Oil Isotopic Analysis. This is a Sources Sought inquiry only. This sources sought notice is for informational purposes only and shall not be considered a solicitation, obligation, or commitment by the Government. This notice is for market research to determine the availability of any businesses with capabilities to provide the required services. The USGS California Water Science Center, Sacramento, CA requires chemical analytical laboratory services for the analysis of lithium (total, 7Li, 6Li), boron (total, 10B, 11B), strontium (total, 86Sr, 87Sr), radium isotopes (228Ra, 226Ra), and the elemental concentration of F, Cl, Br, NO3-, SO4 2-, HCO3-, I-, NH4+, Ca, Mg, Sr, Na, Fe, Ba, Mn,, Li, Be, B, Mg, Al, Ca, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Rb, Sr, Mo, Ag, Cd, Sb, Ba, Tl, Pb, Th, and U, in produced-water samples, which may contain up to ~15% oil and TDS up to 50,000 mg/L, and quality control samples. Analytical Methods: Methods selected for the analysis for produced-water samples must be recognized by state or federal regulatory agencies (California State Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water or U.S. Environmental Protection Agency), and must be documented, published, and have undergone peer review. Documentation shall be provided for any modifications that are made to a method and demonstrate that the results provide equivalent or better performance than the unmodified method. Citable references for each analytical method used shall be submitted. The table below gives examples. The NAICS is 541380, Testing Laboratories, $15M. Interested parties will submit an email detailing their capabilities and experience with these services. Sufficient information must be provided to demonstrate the ability to complete the services. This is not a request for quotation or an announcement of a solicitation. Responses will be used for market research only. Responses are due no later than 12/12/2017 1300 EDT. Response must be submitted to Stewart Evans by email at sevans@usgs.gov. Responses shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to sevans@usgs.gov. All response documents required by this sources sought must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than 12/12/2017.
