- Description
- Amendment-Received addition questions from vendors please see below: Questions 1. What are the dimensions (Length, Width and Height) of the equipment that will be placed inside the Mobile Lab? 2. Is there a specific interior height requirement in addition to standing height? 3. The Solicitation requires 8 ft wide x 20 ft long interior structure. Will you accept a structure that is either 7'3" wide x 19 ft long OR 6'11" wide x 18'8" long? 4. Is it possible to utilize a portion of the interior space for a mechanical room to house the HVAC unit and electrical panel? If not, what are the requirements for placing those on the exterior? 5. Are there any requirements for the exterior finish? 6. What are the interior and exterior lighting requirements? 7. Are interior walls required? Or insulation only? 8. If interior walls are required, what wall material is required? 9. Is there a requirement for all metal construction? 10. The Solicitation mentions temperature and humidity conditioned (+/- 10F, 10%) to 70F/50%. Are these the exterior operating conditions? If yes, what are the required interior temperature and humidity ranges during operation? 11. What is the voltage, phase and amperage required for the main power box? 12. How many interior 15 amp residential power outlets are required? 13. Are there any security requirements? * What is the unit going to be used for? * What type of equipment is going inside? * Where will the unit be placed when it is going to be in use or activated? * Does the exterior need to be painted, sandblasted and have any graphics? * What are the interior finishes for the following areas? o Floor o Walls o Ceiling * What is the needed R-value for insulation? * What are the requirements for the HVAC system? Do we need a through-wall units, mini-split or a 1 or 2 ton Bard unit? * What is the spacing requirement for duplex outlets on each wall? * There is only one 15 amp circuit for a piece of equipment hardline directly to the panel. Correct? * Is anything being attached to the walls? Answers: 1. 8'X4'X6' 2. standing height is the main requirement. 3.Yes 4.Yes as long as they do not obstruct the view of window on the short access into the main room. 5. Exterior Finish should be neutral in color and be able to help protect the lab from elements (waterproof, uv resistant). 6. No exterior lights needed. Interior lighting should mimic office lighting conditions. 7. Interior walls are needed again they should mimic what an office/lab environment would look like. In this case cover building materials. 8. Interior wall material should be similar to materials used in an office/lab environment. An acceptable alternative would be to use materials that are used to finish an interior of a mobile home. 9. Metal construction is not required however the mobile lab must be able to be emplaced with material handling equipment (forklift) or crane and must support 1 ton of instrumentation and rigid enough to support repeated emplacement. 10. No. The interior of the mobile lab must be conditioned to 70F/50% humidity (+/- 10F, 10%) 11. 1 Phase/120V/100Amp. 12. Outlets should be placed in general accordance with office/lab space code. If these specs are not available. Every 4 feet not to exceed 4 receptacles on a circuit. 13. No security requirements. ___________ 1. Unit will be used as a mobile lab to conduct developmental testing on weapon systems. 2. 4'X8' damped optical table, 12+" parabolic mirror, reference lasers, imager, processing computer and clamping devices will be put into the mobile laboratory. 3. The unit will be place in northern MD, USA when in use. It will be placed outside in prevailing conditions on a hard surface in front of a larger test chamber. 4. The unit should be finished such that it will survive in outdoor conditions (protected from rusting, rot etc..). The finished appearance should be a neutral color (no hot pink. Tan, white, brown etc..) 5. Interior finishes for wall, floor and ceiling should mimic a typical lab/office. 6. R-value should be maximized while leaving enough space (8' X20') to work in. values from 3-19 are acceptable. 7. HVAC system should be able to keep the main area conditioned to 70F/50% humidity (+/- 10F, 10%) in Northern eastern MD climates. Type of unit is not critical. Its location must not block view of short side window and main lab area. 8. Outlets should be placed in general accordance with office/lab space code. If these specs are not available. Every 4 feet not to exceed 4 receptacles on a circuit. 9. (See 8) 10. it would be advantageous to mount a monitor to the wall of the lab, but not required.
