- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contractors to provide all equipment, materials, labor, and transportation necessary to perform Electrical Improvement at Black Rock Lake. The project is planned to be issued in November 2017, and will be set aside for Small Businesses. Black Rock Lake is an Army Corps of Engineers flood control project on the Branch Brook in the Naugatuck River basin in central west Connecticut. The earth fill dam with a concrete gate tower and flood control gates are used to control flooding during periods of heavy rain and rapid snow melt. The dam was constructed in 1971 to prevent flooding. This project at the Black Rock Lake Facility has the following major components. 1. Replace transfer switches and panelboards in the project office as required to support the new emergency power system 2. Replace the disconnect fuses in the gate tower feeder 3. Replace transformer primary protection breaker in gate tower This solicitation will be available on or about November, 2017. NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE SOLICITATION IS RELEASED. The solicitation will be available for downloading by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov). In order to view this solicitation, prospective contractors are required to self-register their firm with Federal Business Opportunities (Go to http://www.fbo.gov and "register now" under Vendor/Citizens). Amendments, if any, will be available at this Internet site. Registrants are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. This procurement is set-aside for small business vendors. The applicable NAICS code is 238990 with a Small Business Size Standard of $15M. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the New England District. Please note this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a request for proposals at this time, the solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about November, 2017. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov).
