Description
MOU MOU SFLC QA SOURCES SOUGHT VERBIAGE THE USCG SURFACE FORCES LOGISTIC CENTER SEEKS TO FIND SOURCE INFORMATION FOR THE FOLLOWING SERVICES: Dynamometer test PAXMAN VALENTA 16R200M marine diesel engines horse power range of 1000 to 4000 BHP. The contractor shall test the engine on a test bed utilizing the following test schedule and record the results on an approved test sheet, in accordance with the attached test procedure the dynamometer test shall be approximately two days. There will be an overload test, a governor droop test and governor control line test Basic Test • Start engine set idle to and run at 600 rev/min no load; carry out a general check for oil leaks, water leaks, and correct functioning of engine. J/W shall be at least 140 deg F before beginning the basic test. • The over speed trip and air valve operation shall be tested IAW Paxman Repair & Overhaul Manual, Section H, subsection D, chapter 2. • At ten minute intervals increase erpm by 100 until max of 1500 erpm no load is achieved. When complete reduce speed and begin basic test below. Time Rev/Min BHP ½ Hour 600 221 ½ Hour 700 341 ½ Hour 800 495 ½ Hour 900 689 ½ Hour 1,000 925 ½ Hour 1,100 1209 ½ Hour 1,200 1542 ½ Hour 1,300 1929 ½ Hour 1,400 2,374 1-½ Hour 1,500 2,880 ½ Hour 1,500 3.100 • The overload stop setting should be set while the engine is still running at full load and speed, 1500 erpm & 3100 bhp 0 + 1.5% (3100 3147 bhp) • The speed stop screw is to be set at 1525 erpm when the engine is producing full load. (Rack measurements are to be recorded) • Upon completion of the above part of the test reduce load to verify the governor droop and record. • After verifying droop reduce engine speed to idle and record lube oil pressure. The minimum acceptable lube oil pressure at idle is 50 psi. • The test shall also include a demonstration of the engines governor control line by running the engine up to 2880 bhp at 1525 rpm.
