- Page 1 of 5 (i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for Microplate Spectrophotometer with Micro Centrifuge, BRAND NAME OR EQUAL, as prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. A firm-fixed price purchase order is anticipated. Simplified Acquisition Procedures IAW FAR 13 will be used. (ii) The solicitation number is 36C26018Q0043 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-95 (iv) This solicitation is set aside 100% for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and the associated NAICS 334516 code has a small business size standard of 1,000. The business has been verified for ownership and control pursuant to 38 CFR 74 and is so listed in the Vendor Information Pages database, (https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov); and The Vendor shall be an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller for the proposed equipment/system such that the OEM warranty and service are provided and maintained by the OEM. All warranty and service associated with the equipment/system shall be in accordance with the OEM terms and conditions. The vendor shall provide new items ONLY; no remanufactured or "gray market" items. All items must be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. (xvi) For information regarding the solicitation, please contact Jared Zinsmeister at jared.zinsmeister@va.gov Insert (A) Salient Characteristics MICROPLATE SPECTROPHOTOMETER: The MIRECC Biofluids Biobank requires a microplate-based, monochromator spectrophotometer capable of analyzing quantities as low as 2microliters. The use of this instrument will support the proper use and disposition of clinical research biofluid materials kept in this national resource. The instrument must also provide capacity to preform standard endpoint, kinetic, well area scanning and spectral scanning measurements for biochemical assays in support of the Biobank mission. The instrument must have the following capabilities: Must have large color touchscreen interface. Must have available USB flash drive capacity to transfer output data to research computers for analysis. Must be compatible with 6- to 384-well microplates. Must have complete onboard data reduction software. Must have onboard Windows 8 Operating System or better. Must have wavelength range from 200 nm to 999 nm in 1 nm increments. Must have an optional standard cuvette port. Must be compatible with 2 L low volume microplate accessory with 16- or 48-sample microspots for direct nucleic acid quantification and other applications. Must have temperature control to 65dC with a 4-zone temperature control system, with uniformity across the microplate of ±0.5 dC at 37 dC to limit edge effects in incubated assays. Must have temperature gradient option to prevent condensation in lidded plates. Must have linear, orbital and double-orbital plate shaking. Must perform endpoint, kinetic, well area scanning and spectral scanning measurements. Must read 96 wells in 8 seconds. Must be compatible with major automated microplate handling systems. Must detect ODs up to 4.00 OD. MICRO CENTRIFUGE: The MIRECC Biofluids Biobank requires a refrigerated microcentrifuge capable of centrifugation of 1.5-2.0mL microtubes. The use of this instrument will support the proper use and disposition of clinical research biofluid materials kept in this national resource. The instrument must have the following capabilities: Must have capacity up to 24 tubes of 1.5/2.0mL size Must have a speed range of 200 to 13,300 rpms and a max centrifugal force of 17,000. Must have a frequency controlled brushless induction drive unit. Must be able to retain most-recent user settings. Must have footprint similar to 12.9*11.6*17.5in (hxwxd). Must have 1 99 min. continuous operation with quick-run. Must have a temperature range of 9 ° to +40 °C. Must have Lid locks and lid interlocks with 16- or 48-sample microspots for direct nucleic acid Must have an ambient noise limit of <50dBa at max speed
