- Description
- The Northampton VA Medical Center has a requirement to construct Electrical Deficiencies that generally includes construction, alterations, and necessary removal of existing walls and ceilings and construction and certain other items. Work also includes excavation, trenching, backfill, core-drilling foundations and manholes, concrete slabs, pavement patching, protective bollards, and surface restoration including pavement, lawn and sidewalks. Electrical Work includes all labor, material, equipment and supervision to perform the required electrical construction work on this project including but not limited to the following: scheduling electrical outages, making safe electrical equipment prior to removal or modifications to existing equipment (i.e. breaker replacements or adjustments), removing transformers, removing switchgear, removing transfer switches, removing panelboards, removing wire and conduit, and modifications to grounding and grounding systems. Installing new electrical equipment including but not limited to: MV switchgear, MV cables, duct banks, LV switchgear, disconnect switches, panelboards, transfer switches, wire and cable, grounding, nameplates, fault detectors, cable identification and miscellaneous work as indicated on the drawings and in the specifications. The work also involves relocation and installation of the existing 900kW and 450kW outdoor standby generators currently located in the parking lot of building T7 to a new location near Building 65. Work also requires operational testing as well as filling of the base mounted base mounted fuel tanks with fuel. The generators shall be fully serviced by the manufacturer s factory approved representative. The purpose of this notice is to determine if there are qualified SDVOSBs and VOSBs that have the experience within a hospital environment for this type of work and if such firms are interested in this procurement. The magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. The NAICS code is 238210 and the small business size standard is $15.0 Million. Interested firms should indicate their interest to the Contracting Officer not later than noon on 11/13/2017 via email to MaryKay.Chapman@va.gov. The following information is required in response to this notice: (1) A positive statement of your intention to submit a proposal in response to a solicitation for this project; (2) Two (2) comparable projects of similar size and scope within the past five (5) years for construction of electrical deficiencies project work; (3) Prime shall provide proof of bonding capacity for a project of this magnitude; (4) Prime shall provide proof of insurance for a construction project of this magnitude; (5) Proof of cost control successes on prior projects; (6) Firms shall provide proof of valid Joint Venture or Teaming Arrangements, if applicable; (7) SDVOSB or VOSB firms shall be verified by the Center for Veteran Enterprises (CVE), if applicable; and (8) Firms shall hold active SAM registration All information must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on the availability of interested firms. Failure to submit all information requested in addition to the below form will result in a contractor not being considered as an interested concern. If adequate interest is not received by noon on 11/27/2017, this action will not be set-aside for SDVOSBs and VOSBs. Interested firms must reply via e-mail to MaryKay.Chapman@va.gov. Firms must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). Visit www.sam.gov to register in this database. SDVOSB or VOSB firms must be verified by the Center for Veteran Enterprises (CVE).
