Description
SLAC seeks vendors that can provide one (1) Each of an electron analyzer for the PAX (Photoelectron spectrometry for Analysis of X-rays). This project is an approved LCLS R&D project that seeks to develop an alternative method for measuring resonant inelastic x-ray scattering. It relies on the conversion of x-rays into photoelectrons, thus leveraging the significant flexibility offered by detecting electrons using electron analyzers, rather than photons. The acquisition described herein addresses a set of requirements (technical and other) that need to be met. 1. Technical Requirements: a. Transmission kinetic energy range: 5 eV - 12000 eV b. Transmission mode lens acceptance: ±30 degrees c. Angular mode lens acceptance: ±30 degrees d. Pass energies: 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 eV e. Energy resolution: <100 meV FWHM at 100 eV pass energy at 12000 eV kinetic energy f. Working distance: >40 mm g. Shielding: double µ-metal h. Baking temperature: 150 C i. High voltage power requirements: 220/110 V, 10 A, 50/60 Hz i. Temperature stability: <2 ppm/C ii. Drift: < 20 ppm/year j. Detector: i. >500 energy channels available simultaneously ii. >400 angular channels available simultaneously iii. Average noise per channel: <0.01 cps iv. Total noise for all energy channels: <2 cps v. Frame rate: >70 frames/second 2. Major Milestones and Delivery Date a. The electron analyzer shall arrive at SLAC no later than April 30th, 2018 3. Manufacturing capabilities a. The vendor must present evidence that it possesses the fabrication and testing facilities to manufacture the electron analyzer 4. Past and Present Performance a. Documentation must be presented showing that the vendor has previously manufactured electron analyzers that have met similar technical requirements b. The vendor must be able to produce documentation demonstrating that the electron analyzer to be delivered meets all the technical criteria THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. VENDORS INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED AS A POTENTIAL SOURCE SHOULD IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS AN "INTERESTED PARTY" VIA THE FBO PORTAL. DO NOT CONTACT THE SUBCONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR.
