- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a sole source Firm Fixed Price Order against Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) # SP4A1-17-G-0008 to procure-- • one (1) LM2500+ power turbine assembly (PTA) P/N L50050G0, • one (1) LM2500+ gas generator assembly (GGA) P/N L50021G03, and • twenty (20) GE LM2500 Integrated Electronic Control (IEC) kits, part number 682L284G04 The procurement shall be fulfilled by General Electric Company (GE), General Aircraft Engines Company located at 1 Neumann Way Cincinnati, OH 45215-1988. The General Electric LM2500+ is the primary propulsion gas turbine engine on LHD-8, LHA-6, and LHA-7. The LM2500+ gas turbine engine is comprised of two mating components; the gas generator (GG) and the power turbine (PT). The LM2500 IEC Modification Kit contains all of the necessary equipment to upgrade the LM2500 hydro mechanical Main Fuel Control (MFC) system to a Digital Fuel Control (DFC) configuration, resulting in increased reliability and fuel cost savings. These kits are be used to upgrade DDG-51 and CG-47 Class ships during modernization availabilities. Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact GE directly. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis. Any submissions will not be reimbursed by the Government -- the entire cost of any submission will be at the sole expense of the source submitting the information. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
