Description
This is a sources sought and market survey. The intent of this notice is to identify potential qualified US owned businesses offerors that are able to produce and fabricate the Generation II Internal Locking Device (ILD) Assembly units, in accordance with Government furnished drawing package. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) DoD Lock Program has been designated as the center of expertise for locks, safes vaults, Seals and containers for the storage and protection of National Security Information and Arms, Ammunition and Explosives. Our mission is to procure, integrate, install and sustain the GEN II ILD Assembly units required per the Government furnished drawing package. The DOD Lock Program is centrally managed at Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, CA. The NAVFAC Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) DoD Lock Program is the approving authority over the GEN II ILD. NAVFAC EXWC contemplates awarding a multiple award indefinite delivery indefinite quantity, contract with a total capacity of $7,000,000 over a 60 month ordering period. Delivery orders will be issued as firm-fixed price and competed among the contract holders. Three or more awards are anticipated. The anticipated NAICS is 332999 with a size standard of 750 employees. The GEN II ILD is a new design and has not previously been placed into production. Contractor ™s that are selected for award will be required to complete first article testing and approval, as detailed in FAR Subpart 9.3. In response to this notice, respondents are requested to provide the following information, along with examples: 1)Has the firm had experience in manufacturing similar devices? 2)Has the firm had experience in manufacturing items from another firm ™s drawings and specifications? 3)Has the firm previously had contracts that required first article testing? If so, what was/were the results? 4)What is the firm ™s capacity to produce the GEN II ILD ™s on an annual basis? 5)Does the firm have recommended minimum/maximum production run quantities? 6)Company information, including size standard and status (if applicable) 7)What duration of time would it take your company to develop and submit a First Article Test GEN II ILD sample unit to the Government? Firms that desire to obtain the Government ™s drawing package may submit a request to: Michael.kwast1@navy.mil. Firms are invited to provide comments on the draft performance work statement.
