Description
Synopsis: THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY for commercially available products that are capable of meeting the basic requirements described below. This is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB). It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential products and sources for planning purposes only. Responses to this notice are not considered as offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of responses nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information presented or the use of any such information. DESCRIPTION: The Product Manager Force Sustainment Systems (PM FSS), Natick, MA is seeking a storage capability which will allow for storage and charging of the Joint Precision Air Drop System (JPADS) 10K Autonomous Guidance Unit (AGU) and the JPADS 2K Modular Autonomous Guidance Unit (MAGU). These are two different systems with different requirements. The goal of this storage system is to provide units with a system that takes up the minimum space needed to store and charge the AGU and MAGU. REQUIREMENTS: PM FSS is seeking a shelving unit that is designed for the JPADS 10K AGU and the JPADS 2K MAGU. Although these are like items, they have different needs and requirements. The shelving unit must be capable of handling the minimum space required for the 10K AGU, as well as, the AGU's weight. The 10K AGU weighs 157lbs, with dimensions of 28 in. x 17.4. x 8.7in. The battery system is 36-volt, consisting of three 12-volt SLA batteries in series. The JPADS 10K AGU charging unit requires a 110 or 220 VAC, 3-prong receptacle. Each battery charging unit requires up to 3.6 Amps during the bulk charging phase. The current to the charger is significantly less during the maintenance charging phase. The AGU's are not able to be stacked on top of each other. The shelving unit must be able to provide each shelf with power to maintain the AGU's batteries. The 2K MAGU unit weight is 56lbs, with dimensions of 18in x 23in x 6.5in. The modularity of the MAGU allows the user to easily remove the battery for storage/charging and replacement. The dimensions of the battery itself is (4in x 7in x 5in) and weighs 10lbs.The battery system is 24 volt, consisting of two Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries in series. The JPADS 2K MAGU charging unit requires a 110 or 220 VAC and utilizes the same 3-prong receptacle whether being charged installed in the MAGU or on its own. Each battery charging unit requires up to 2 Amps during the bulk charging phase. The current to the charger is significantly less during the maintenance charging phase. The MAGU units are not able to be stacked on top of each other. The shelving unit must be able to provide each shelf with power to maintain the MAGU's batteries. The batteries are removable and can be stored separately from the MAGU. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This system must be commercially available in a timely manner that meets the users' timeline. The system should be modular and capable of adaptation to various US forces facilities for CONUS or OCONUS operations. This system should be able to be secured by lock and key or by a digital code (open for decision). REQUESTED INFORMATION: Vendors who have commercially and readily available product(s) capable of meeting the above requirements are requested to submit a short (no more than five (5) pages total) summary, including description of the vendor's product(s) and the ability to configure the product(s) to meet the requirements, as well as pictures, website, and any test report(s), as applicable. The five (5) page summary must include Company name and address, point of contact with phone number, DUNS number, Cage Code and a statement regarding any small business designation (if applicable), by the date and to the address noted below.
