- Leica Microsystems JOFOC The USDA National Animal Disease Center in Ames, IA, intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price purchase award for a 12-month service maintenance agreement and software maintenance, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(2)(b)(i) with Leica Microsystems, Buffalo Grove, IL for service maintenance on the Leica Aperio AT2, SN: 7094. This service maintenance agreement will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures in FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). The sole source determination is based on Leica Microsystems is the sole source for factory trained labor and maintenance services for the AT2, is the only authorized source for proprietary software upgrades and updates, service and repair for the AT2, Spectrum Plus, Area Quantification, Cell Quantification, Genie XT Replacement Racks and 2x3 Slide Trays as well as the service and support for the Barcode License associated with this system. NAICS code for this procurement is 334516. The period of performance for the service maintenance agreement commences on October 7, 2017 and concludes October 6, 2018. This is not a request for quote. However, all interested parties may contact the Purchasing Agent listed below. Sources interested in responding to this requirement must be able to provide compelling evidence that they can obtain/provide a maintenance agreement contact utilizing factory authorized parts and service that will not invalidate equipment warranties for the listed equipment. Responses must be submitted electronically, via email, to lara.j.hicok@aphis.usda.gov. The deadline for the submittal of responses is 1:00pm CST October 4, 2017.
