Page 2 of 2 Sources Sought Synopsis Only The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (hubzone, 8(a), small, small disadvantage, veteran owned small business (VOSB), service disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB), or large business) relative to NAICS 541990 All Other Professional, Scientific and Technical Services with size standards of 15 million dollars.   Note that if VA s pending market research establishes that two or more VOSB or SDVOSB, who are certified in VA s Vendor Information Pages (VIP) site https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/, can perform the project, VA will set aside the underlying solicitation per 38 U.S.C. §8127.   Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on FBO and/or GSA eBuy. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. Scope: The purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to outline the tasks and responsibilities of the Contractor to conduct monthly visual inspection and 1 annual services for the fire extinguishers. Contractor shall provide all necessary equipment, tools, and knowledge for the visual inspection of the Portable Fire Extinguishers. Responsibility is as follows: Monthly Visual inspections of 500 fire extinguishers per/within the calendar month. Month, Day, Year and Signature of inspector on each fire extinguisher within the calendar month. Scanning of each fire extinguisher bar code label and location label using the VA provided scanning equipment within the calendar month. Completion of the VA monthly inspection documentation and annual documentation. Vendor shall return upon the identification of all missed portable fire extinguisher without additional charges to the VA to make correction of inspect any extinguishers missed within the calendar month of inspection. Vendor shall inform the VA Impairment Coordinator of any discrepancies as they are identified in writing using the provided VA inspection documents. Annual Certification of Fire Extinguishers in accordance with NFPA 10 12 Year Hydrostatic testing of Fire Extinguishers as required. Emergency service calls to conduct emergency repairs as required General Requirements The vendor and/or staff must have current State of California certification to conduct these inspections The contractor will complete this task in accordance with National Fire Protection Association Standard (NFPA 10) most current revision.
