VA256-17-Q-1481 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Ascom Patient Stations and Curbell Pillow Speakers with Installation for Nurse Call System The Department of Veterans Affairs, Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS), 2400 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119, intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with VT Milcom, Inc. for upgraded Nurse Call System to include installation of Patient Stations and Pillow Speakers, and removal of existing 3-Button Nurse Call System within the existing system installed by VT Milcom. VT Milcom, Inc. is responsible for installing the Nurse Call System throughout the entire SLVCHS campus. To have another vendor work on this system will void the warranty to the entire campus. VT Group is also the only entity with administrator s access to the system during the installation process. This presents a compelling need to continue this procurement with the current vendor. The Government believes that only one business can satisfy the agency requirements and intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Other vendors may identify their interest and capability by responding to this by Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 2PM CST. Such capabilities information will be used solely to determine whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.  All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.   A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
