This is a sources sought announcement ONLY and is NOT a solicitation for proposals or quotes. The information gathered from this request for information (RFI) is for PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. The Government is not obligated, nor shall it pay for, any information received from potential sources as a result of this Sources Sought Notice. The Orlando VA Medical Center is seeking information on business concerns capable of providing a fully automated equipment that can perform FDA cleared or approved nucleic acid tests using a real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based methodology that employs amplification refractory mutation system (ARMS), Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) molecular testing and V-Ki-ras2 Kirsten Rat Sarcoma (KRAS) mutation specific Scorpion probes. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Equipment must be capable of detecting the 7 most commonly encountered mutations in codons 12 and 13 of the KRAS gene observed in human cancers (G12D, G12A, G12C, G12S, G12V, G12R, and G13D). Equipment must be designed to detect the 21 most commonly encountered mutations in exons 18-21 of the EGFR gene observed in human cancers (as a companion diagnostic to guide the use of GILOTRIF (Afatinib). This represents a recently developed EGFR-targeted therapy for treatment of metastatic non-small cell carcinoma of the lung.
