Description

The VA Palo Alto Healthcare System (VAPAHCS) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Life Technologies Corporation, a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The proposed contract action is to acquire Life Technologies QPCR system. The request is for name brand product meets VA minimum requirements for (1) small size to fit in the limited available lab space, and (2) operating capabilities that include ability to use SYBR green dye that previous data has been standardized on, ability to handle very small samples, and ability to process a large quantity of samples at once. This sole source action is in accordance with FAR 5.2. Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no competitive solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements or provide an equal product may give written notification to the contract specialist for consideration. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to September 15, 2018 at 3:00PM Pacific. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses must be e-mailed to angela.xavier@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. No reimbursement for any costs associated with providing capability statements will be provided by the Government.
