Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6, Charles George VA Medical Center, Asheville, NC intends to award a contract for the lease of a bariatric bed. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339112 and business size standard of 1,000 employees. This is not a request for bids, quotes, or proposals. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses. The responses to this announcement will assist in determining the socio-economic set aside if feasible. The Department of Veterans Affairs is required by Public Law 109-461 to give first priority to SDVOSB and VOSB concerns if there should be sufficient firms available to compete under a set aside. If insufficient veteran owned and small business response is received to establish the basis for setting this action aside for other than large business participation then the action will be advertised as full and open competition, in which case, all interested parties responding shall be eligible to bid. The Asheville VA Medical Center, located at 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805, is seeking a potential qualified contractor than can provide supply/delivery services of a bariatric bed on an as needed basis with the following salient characteristics (no gray market items accepted): Need Lease of a bariatric bed for patient needs at Asheville (NC) VAMC. Contractor shall deliver/pickup bariatric bed and other necessary equipment within 12 hours from the time of request. Bariatric bed must contain the following essential physical characteristics and dimensions: Fully electric Integrated low air loss support surface with bed frame Support surface powered width expansion up to 50 inches without the use of bolsters or removable parts Support surface remains inflated during transport 1000 pound weight limit Adjustable bed length without use of bolsters or removable parts CPR function/quick release Integrated electronic, digital bed scale Turn-assist feature Side rails must conform to FDA entrapment standards for all zones Bed controls integrated into the side rails or contained within a separate hand pendant Lighted bed controls Audible bed exit alarms IV pole holders Must be capable of transport in elevated positions Braking system must be set/released by foot control Possess a move assist feature independent on power Must accommodate lifts and other equipment beneath deck Chair position feature Digital Head of bed angle indicators and alert Must support the attachment of traction equipment Possess a battery back-up function Must be trapeze compatible This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. All information submitted in response to this Sources Sought notice become property of the Government. Interested and capable respondents are requested to provide the information below.
