- Description
- This is a Market Survey to locate sources for the acquisition of two obsolete parts for CN-1716/A, Attitude and Heading Reference Unit (AHRU), NSN 6605-01-503-5284, P/N 765100-20. The two piece parts are used within Initial Measurement Unit (IMU), LN-200 provided by a vendor, Mission System, Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC), Woodland Hills, CA. The hosted system, AHRU is a self-contained strap-down, inertial reference set that provide pitch, roll, and magnetic heading, angular rate and body acceleration information to the flight instruments on the UH-60A/L Black Hawk helicopter. The AHRU senses pitch (±82°), roll (360°) and heading (360°), and transmits all attitude information in synchro format. Attitude information shall also be available in both digital and analog form. This AHRU is produced sole source by Northrop Grumman Italia (NGI), Via Pontina km 27,800, 00040 Pomezia, Italy, CAGE A3379. These two components are: Gyro Loop Controller ASIC and Accelerometer Hybrid. The components contained hardware and software proprietary to NGC and NGI. Technical data for these items are not available from the Army. Any sources capable of supply these items must so indicate, by writing to Commander, USACERDEC, ATTN: RDER-PRA-AB, Building 6007, 3rd Floor, F3-140-90, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005. Companies must demonstrate that they had past experience of supply these items to the manufacturer. The lead time requirement for produce these items is 4 months from the Date of the Contract. The response must demonstrate intimate knowledge of the IMU/system to include areas such as system design, test, product acceptance processes, parts/materials usage and the necessary special test equipment. The response should state that whether the supplier supplied these components to any end item manufacturer. Successful supplier is require to warrant that the item will satisfactorily perform when used for the purpose intended by the Army. If so, please elaborate on the Program and Assessment tool(s). 8) Describe your company's experience in identifying the alternatives for the unavailability of obsolete materials or components to mitigate obsolescence issues. 9) Discuss your company's capability in meeting US Government contracting delivery requirements. 10) Do you have product/s or keep products in stock? This Request for Information (RFI) is for planning and market research purposes only, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. The information gathered from this announcement will be used to determine if responsible sources exist, and to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or set aside for Small Business. Furthermore, the Government will use the information, in part, to determine the best acquisition strategy for a potential procurement action and to assist in making future acquisition strategy decisions. This is NOT a Request for Quote or Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this RFI.
