- Description
- The Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), Integrated Air, Space, Cyberspace and ISR Operations Directorate (A2/3/6), Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado hereby issues the following special notice. The purpose of this announcement is to formally communicate the Government's plan to conduct a Range Activity Customer Exchange (RACE) event to provide Government and industry range customers an overview of current and future business, technical and operational practices of the Air Force’s Launch and Test Range System (LTRS), which includes the Eastern Range (Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FL) and Western Range (Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA). The Fall 2017 RACE event will occur at Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA on 24-25 October 2017. The first day of the event, 24 October 2017, will be informational only to provide mid-level Government and industry members with key insight to range activities. On the second day of the event, 25 October 2017, one-on-one discussions are planned between government LTRS representatives and range customers (upon customer request) to gain insight into range customer requirements and issues. Day 1, 24 October 2017 – The Government plans to present information on current activities and future LTRS initiatives (agenda subject to change prior to event). Spacelift policy and guidance update (e.g., launch operations, scheduling, etc.) Wing scheduling process overview, issues, and way-ahead Range capacity modeling effort Launch operations impact to neighboring activities LTRS Flight Plan update (strategic planning) Transition to Autonomous Flight Safety System (AFSS) status & way-ahead Command destruct architecture modernization activities Telemetry architecture status & way-ahead NASA telemetry capabilities C-Band migration impacts Eastern Range Communications Facility (RCF) update Those interested in participating in the first day of the event should contact an AFSPC Point of Contact (POC) listed below by email no later than 29 September 2017. Within the email, please provide: each attendee’s full name, email address, phone number, and organization. The POC will provide confirmed RSVP attendees with the final details of how to gain access to Vandenberg Air Force Base and the facilities where the briefings/one-on-ones will be held. Each attendee will be required to bring a Government-issued photo ID such as a current driver's license, Common Access Card (CAC), or passport, and current proof of employment (e.g., company employee badge). Day 2, 25 October 2017 – For organizations/companies requesting one-on-one discussions with government LTRS representatives, please contact an AFSPC POC listed below by email. Requests for one-on-one meetings will not be accepted if submitted after 29 September 2017. Attendance is limited on a first-come first-serve basis until all time slots are filled. Please include topic(s) for discussion. If your company intends on providing or sharing information that requires a Non-Disclosure Agreement for the Government panel to sign, please include this document as an attachment in your email. Based on submissions, the Government will establish the schedule and location for the discussions on 25 October 2017 and notify requesting organizations and companies accordingly. This special announcement is not a request for proposal, a request for quote or a solicitation announcement. This is not an effort to acquire products, services or technology. No product sale pitches, services proposals or solicitations will be entertained during either Day 1 or Day 2 of the RACE event. Information contained in this announcement is based on the best information available at the time of publication, is subject to revision and is not binding on the Government. The Vendor is solely responsible for all costs incurred for participation in either session of this event; the Government will not reimburse the Vendor for any costs incurred as a result of their participation.
