Description

PBIS consists of a Dell server complex in the Pentagon and a backup site at a secure location. The Dell Power Edge Server System has proprietary and patented technology. Under the original purchase agreement, this technology cannot be exposed to their competitors. Award of a maintenance agreement to a non-certified vendor would void all other warranty and service agreements. The servers were purchased in 2012 with a three year warranty, expiring on 30 Sep 2016. Requirement for the maintenance of the Dell Power Edge Server System located at the Chief of Naval Operations Programming Division (N80) at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. System maintenance includes services necessary to maintain hardware and software functionality. Technical assistance shall be made available via telephone and onsite support for the purpose of providing user assistance in the identification and rectification of problems/malfunctions/bugs. Software updates, including product upgrades, maintenance releases, and patches, shall be made available to the user.
