- Description
- RESPONSE DATE HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 5:00PM AUGUST 14, 2017. Below are questions and answers regarding this RFP. Question: Will the identity of the potential bidders submitting questions be kept confidential? We, and I am sure others, would prefer it this way. Answer: No, potential bidders are never disclosed. Question: If the proposed solution is slated for obsolescence at some point during the award period, will the Government consider a replacement product with the same capabilities? Answer: In the event that an item becomes obsolete, the contractor would notify the government and the item would be re-competed for. Question: CID, Section 3.7, RF spectral harmonic content - would the Government consider adding "at 10 dBm or the maximum specified output level"? Answer: Per EW Engineering staff; "RF spectral harmonics content: minimum requirement is -50 dB. -40dB does not provide the harmonic rejection capability needed for this application." Question: CID, Section 3.10, Power output level - would the Government consider changing the maximum output level to read "+8 dBm"? Answer: Per EW Engineering staff, (and most users); "Power output level: minimum requirement is 10dBm: any lower than this will not leave enough signal strength when adding splitters or attenuators." Question: CID, Section 3.13, RF output amplitude tolerance - would the Government consider adding "when level > -90 dBm"? Answer: Varies with most users, from CID section 3.13. RF output amplitude tolerance. The signal generator shall have a minimum power output amplitude variation tolerance of ±0.5 dBm. The need for a narrow 0.5 dB can be critical and a defining factor. A false target or an aviator in distress can take advantage of that 0.5dB. Question: CID, Section 3.26, Port damage - would the Government consider relaxing to "0.5 W and 0 VDC"? Answer: This can be acceptable with an external fuse protection at "no additional cost to the Government." Question: Is analog sweep (under 3.17, Triggering) a hard requirement or is this not considered essential? Answer: EW answer either will work; Triggering - digital sweep will work vs analog
