- Description
- Drawing Binder containing 44 drawings applicable to this notice. SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE - SUBCONTRACTOR shall provide fabrication and assembly of a specialized lens housing. Subcontractor shall be responsible for acquisition of the required materials, complete fabrication, quality, and accuracy of all finished parts. Interested parties are requested to provide their company information to include the following: Company's name Point of Contact Title Phone number E-mail address Business size: The Small Business size standard for this work in number of employees is 1,000. ASSUMPTIONS: We assume that there will be few firms that can perform all of the required fabrications, assembly and all of the metrology operations required in-house. However, subcontracting those tasks outside of your firm's areas of knowledge, experience and primary skill is acceptable if all of the work can be supervised by the Prime Subcontractor and performed under one quality assurance/quality control program. All drawing measurements are related to insuring the integrity of the optical design intent. The Prime Subcontractor should have the internal capacity to review accurately and certify the majority of the measurements and utilize lower-tiers for instances that are outside of the Prime Subcontractor's capabilities. SUBMIT: Please provide a capability statement to document your firm's qualifications and those of your prospective lower-tier(s) to perform work similar to size and scope that we are presenting here. Please provide a rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimate for one complete fabricated and assembled lens housing as represented in these documents. Provide a preliminary manufacturing plan and a metrology plan. SPECIAL CONCERN: We are asking for some custom gears and a helical cam-barrel as well as lens housings. The smoothness of the cam-barrel motion and the backlash in the system could be substituted for a detailed profile measurement because, ultimately that is what we care about. Some craftsmanship experience could substitute for detailed measurements in these areas, but your firm would need to show us a level of experience with that. Please contact Mr. Anthony Donofrio by phone at 702-295-0522 or via E-mail at donofraf@nv.doe.gov with any questions you may have.
