Description
This main component of this project is to replace the existing roof at Building 456. The building has a standing seam metal roof over steel framing. There are 3 roof areas at difference elevations. The total roof area is approximately 33,300 sq. ft. As-built drawings are available from the Installation s Public Works Department and will be provided upon request. However, these drawings are providing for information purposes only as a representation of the existing roof. It is the contractors responsibility to verify all dimensions and existing conditions of the roof regardless of any drawings provided as to insure accuracy in their proposal and planned accomplishment of this Statement of Work within all defined specifications. Due to the elevations of the roof, location of the facility and the fact that the portions of the facility not immediately undergoing roof replacement will remain of open during the execution of this project, all 3 position are required as separate rolls / individuals consisting of : Project Superintendent; Site Safety; and Quality Control. The contractor shall insure the continuing water integrity of the facility during the whole course of the roof repair / replacement project to include being responsible for any and all repairs associated with water intrusion during the course of the work. The contractor shall be available both after hours and on weekends to respond for any needed clean up and temporary drying in of the facility should torrential rains or thunderstorms occur which would allow water intrusion into the facility from any on-going or incomplete roof work. It may become necessary from time to time for the Government officials to stop the Contractor from working due to mission priority, Base security, or other events. The Contractor will be required to cease work as directed by the Government Project Manager I PM or other Government officials. Any scheduled or unscheduled delays encountered should be reported to the Government Construction/Contracting Representative/Officer assigned to the project. For each calendar day and/or portion of a calendar day the Contractor is removed from the job site, the contract schedule will be adjusted accordingly. The Contractor shall comply with the environmental requirements of NAS JRB, New Orleans. The use and disposal of roofing materials and shall be coordinate with the Environmental Manager for the Installation.
