Description
This Request for Information Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Request for Information Notice is to determine interest and capability of Other Than Small Businesses and Small Businesses, including Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) prospective contractors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339115 (Ophthalmic Goods Manufacturing). The Alcon Laboratories, Inc. Centurion Phacoemulsification System is known to meet the Government s needs. The Government is requesting if there are other and/or similar phacoemulsification systems that exists on Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) or the open market or scheduled contracts with the following specifications/capabilities: One (1) Alcon Labs Inc Centurion Vision System Upgradeable platform platform allows for future software and hardware upgrades Software automatically employs ultrasound power only when preset vacuum threshold is met Multiple torsional amplitude ultrasound power modes available Handpieces have leur lock on irrigation Hand pieces have irrigation line oriented to tip to provide consistent ergonomics System has multiple fluidics capability modes Fluidics Management System (FMS) System FMS has rotary valve control System has ability to read calibration info from each and every FMS System has laser sensors for vacuum and aspiration System designed to detect and compensate for dynamic changes in ocular pressure during procedure System shall allow surgeon to set PEL in software, with display on console System allows surgeon to select time for system to reach targeted IOP in software System allows for surgeon to set factor to compensate for tip/sleeve selections to maintain targeted IOP throughout procedure System has GUI instructions System has GUI to confirm readiness status during setup System allows surgeon to set increasing and decreasing linear control for vacuum and aspiration in software for foot positions System allows surgeon to choose in software from more than 3 parameter modalities System has wired and wireless footswitch options with Zigbee wireless platforms System has at least 19 touch resistant monitor System has snap knee access to GUI via IR remote System has lockable 3 wheels with cord protection System shall have task light on external console to illuminate mayo tray field System employs footswitch with 4 separate channels Footswitch controls irrigation flow, aspiration rate, phaco handpiece power, vitrectomy cutting, coag power, and IOL injection Multiple programmable switches can be programmed to control various surgical functions System has foot well position System has multi voltage power supply System has motorized IV pole System has adjustable tray which can be stored vertically System has rotating work surface Included Components Centurion Tray Cover Centurion Remote Control Centurion Footpedal Centurion Dust Cover Ten (10) Centurion Ozil HP Tip bevel alignment with the irrigation line for improved alignment during procedure Ten (10) Ultraflow II I/A HP Two (2) User Manuals Two (2) Service Manuals Interested Other than Small Businesses and Small Businesses, including VOSBs and SDVOSBs are required to submit an e-mail delineating: Qualifications, capabilities, and experience for providing this product; Business size/Socioeconomic status; and If the product is on the Federal Supply Schedule or the Open Market This is not a Request for Quote, Request for Proposal, or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender. VOSBs and SDVOSBs must be registered and verified in VIP for set-aside consideration. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 339115 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. Responses due are to be submitted by e-mail to Jim Hedman at james.hedman2@va.gov. The information requested must be received no later than 09:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time on Friday, July 28th, 2017.
