All companies are welcome to attend. The event is free, however pre-registration is required. The registration will be opened on/about 11 August 2017 via Eventbrite. This announcement will be amended once the registration is open to provide a direct link for use. Also on hand will be the Pittsburgh District office of the Small Business Administration and the California University Procurement Technical Assistance Center Offices to offer support to attendees. ****************************************************************************** For attendee planning purposes, the following is a listing of the type of work typical for this District. It is representational only and not all-inclusive. • Marine & Heavy Civil Construction lock and dam construction, streambank & slope stabilization, dredging & related services, ecosystem restoration, some fabricating of assemblies such as actuators, valves, etc, concrete work (abutment and Guidewall crack repairs), in-the-wet marine construction using floating plant. • Engineering - surveying & mapping • Other Services - Janitorial and maintenance, facility maintenance, testing & drilling, some remediation under FUSRAP mission • Supplies - Some office equipment and supplies using the government purchase card, industrial repair parts and supplies for lock and dam maintenance, structural steel, some protective & safety equipment. Note that GPCC holders utilize GSA and DoD eMall for most purchases of off-the-shelf supplies. If you are a Small Disadvantaged, Woman-Owned, HUBzone, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business doing work in marine, heavy and civil construction, engineering, remediation and environmental services, and dredging, we especially encourage you to attend! Attendees should bring a one-page capabilities statement with them for scanning, archival and distribution purposes. ********************************************************************************** Types of work not typical for this District include - • IT Hardware, Software and Services - This District utilizes a corporate arrangement and sourcing for IT supplies and equipment through the Army CHESS program (hardware & software) and its IT contractor for its services. It does not purchase IT equipment or services directly. Consumables are purchased through its logistics procedures. • Vertical Construction - this district does not have a military mission, therefore, vertical construction is not part of typical work for this District. However, maintenance to USACE owned facilities is performed from time to time and as budget permits, such as roof replacements, HVAC replacements, Window and door upgrades, and some parking lot and road maintenance as needed. This is not regular work and is sporadic. This organization also does not accomplish any design/build construction contracts. • Military Support - This organization is primarily civilian in nature and does not support a military post or personnel (troop support). • "Consulting Services" - This organization does not purchase consulting services or construction management. Any specific needs with respect to a particular project are procured using regional MATOC IDIQ contracts. • Architect and Engineer Services on a regular basis - Regional MATOC A/E contracts are in place for use throughout the Great Lakes and Rivers Division. Most A/E work consists of specialty design that cannot be accomplished in house with government personnel. Volume of work contracted out using the MATOCs is not large.
