- National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is issuing this sources sought notice as a means of conducting market research, pursuant to FAR Part 10 Market Research, to identify potential parties capable of performing services to collect scrap metal from the NIST Gaithersburg campus. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ONLY, not a Request for Proposals (RFP) and does not commit the Government to award a contract now or in the future. The purpose of this sources sought is to identify organizations with the capabilities to provide the services stated herein. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. WOSB, HUBZone, and VOSB and SDVOSB are encouraged to respond to this notice. BACKGROUND - The NIST Gaithersburg campus has an excess property program responsible for the reuse, recycle and disposition of equipment. This program produces over 500,000 pound of scrap metal each year. NIST is seeking capable vendors who can pick and recycle 100% of the scrap metal produced from the program. The types of scrap metal include aluminum, stainless steel, light iron and tin. Interested, capable vendors (parties) shall submit a Capability Statement in response to this Sources Sought Notice, with the following: 1.Contact information: Company, Address, Point of Contact, Phone Number, Fax Numbers, Email Address 2.Type of business (small, large, etc.) with a brief summary of the company, of no more than 3 paragraphs. 3.Evidence that the interested party is fully capable of providing the required services and supplies for recycling 100% of the scrap metal produced at NIST Gaithersburg campus, and as such may contain any information that the interested party feels is relevant. 4.Please address any concerns that you have pertaining to this notice that should be clarified by the Government prior to the issuance of a solicitation. NOTE : The total number of pages to reply to this source sought shall not exceed 10 pages double-sided and shall be emailed to michelle.dacanay@nist.gov. NOTE : All vendors need to be registered in SAM for contract award. www.sam.gov A SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The Government is not obligated and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this sources sought. If and when a solicitation is issued, it will be posted on GSA e-Buy or https://www.fbo.gov/. It is the respondent's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of any synopsis or solicitation. Vendors are not required to respond to this notice to be considered for award.
