Responses are due back to Bob Pizzano no later than Tuesday 7/18 @ 10am. est. robert.pizzano@usma.edu Department of Civil & Mechanical Engineering Biomechanical Engineering Laboratory requires an integrated motion capture system. Eight (8) motion capture cameras are required to be shipped and installed. Cameras will be attached to the walls and/or drop ceiling. United States Military Academy facilities will have mounting rails fixed to walls and ceilings prior to contractor arrival. Contractor must provide mounting brackets and everything necessary for fixation. Tripods (maximal height at least 7 feet) must also be provided to allow for outdoor data collection. Motion capture cameras must be integrated into a new computer and data acquisition system, which is compatible and synced with our current Bertec instrumented treadmill. This system must be able to provide three dimensional kinematics of the entire body (feet, shanks, thighs, hips, head, arms and torso during walking and running). All cords must be managed in the drop ceiling to avoid tripping hazards. Motion capture cameras must have a maximum size of 100mm x 100mm x 150mm, minimum resolution of 2 megapixels, and capture at least 330 frames per second. Camera latency must also be less than 5 milliseconds. Near infra-red illumination is also required. High speed video camera must also sync with motion capture camera data. Minimum of 120 frames per second at 1280 x 720 (720p) resolution. Data collection computer must meet the follow specifications. Minimum 3.0 GHz processing speed, 16 GB random access memory, two separate 2TB hard drives to allow for data backup. Data collection monitor must be at least 24 inches with 1920 x 1080 resolution. Motion capture and video camera data must be synced in a single software application. Instrumented treadmill data must also be synced in this application. Software requires integrated MATLAB and Python scripting interface, allowing for two way communication of custom scripts. Software must provide auto-labeling technology, to allow for seamless identification and tracking of marker data.
