- ALFALFA HAY, 1375 TONS - BLM NV, PALOMINO VALLEY This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The competitive synopsis/solicitation, L17PS00860, is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 19.5, Set-Asides for Small Business. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 111940, Hay Farming and the size standard is $0.75M (per the SBA's Table of Small Business Size Standards) To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be registered and complete the online Representations and Certification in the System for Award Management (SAM) data base via website: http://www.sam.gov. LINE ITEM 0010 - 1375 TONS OF ALFALFA HAY, 2017 SECOND CUTTING: Request is for 1,375 Tons of Alfalfa Hay 2017 second cutting. Hay may be delivered in small and large bales however a minimum of 500 tons must be small bales. The balance of 875 tons can be large or small bales, with small bales being the preferred choice. The contactor shall deliver, unload and stack hay at the National Wild Horse and Burro Placement Center, at Palomino Valley, Reno, NV. The hay shall be at least 75% alfalfa with not more than 25% grasses (per bale), used for food for domestic animals, cured, cut, and stored for fodder. Hay shall also be stored in barn, and/or covered with hay tarps. Any hay stored outside uncovered must be free from any weather related damage, no damaged top or bottom small bales will be accepted. Deliveries shall be made between August 15 and October 31, 2017. See full specifications included. Quotes must include RFQ Number L17PS00860, Contractors Name and Point of Contact, DUNS Number, cost per ton, and must be received no later than 4pm (Pacific Time) on Thursday July 27, 2017. Quotes may be submitted electronically through FedConnect, emailed to k1fergus@blm.gov, or faxed to 775-549-9827. It is the contractor's responsibility to confirm receipt of the quotes. This combined synopsis/solicitation notice does not obligate the government to award a contract nor does it obligate the government to pay for any quote preparation costs.
