Description

Attachments Pouring Rights RFP The Smithsonian Institution is seeking proposals for a comprehensive beverage contract for the National Zoological Park. Founded in 1889, the Smithsonian National Zoological Park (the "Zoo") is part of the Smithsonian Institution. Today, the Zoo sits on 163 acres in the heart of Washington, D.C.'s Rock Creek Park and is home to more than 1,500 animals across 300 different species. The Zoo is one of Washington D.C.'s, and the Smithsonian's, most popular tourist destinations, with more than 2 million visitors from all over the world each year. The successful offeror will be required to provide high quality, competitively priced beverages for the Zoo. The Smithsonian will consider contracting separately for public-facing beverage vending services, potentially resulting in two contract awards to different offerors: one contract for the provision of beverages in the Zoo's food service facilities (the "beverage concession program") and one contract for public-facing beverage vending (the "vending program"). In connection with the provision of beverages, the Smithsonian will consider proposals for granting exclusive pouring rights to the provider, as described in Section III. E of the RFP. The Smithsonian will require an initial five (5) year contract term commencing on January 1, 2018, with a mutually agreed upon option to extend for one (1) additional five-year period. A tour of Zoo food service facilities will be held for interested parties on July 24, 2017. This is not a solicitation for a federal contract and is therefore not governed by federal procurement procedures. Thank you for your interest.
