Description

COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION Positive Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) systems for Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston, Texas (I) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized in FAR Part 13. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (II) This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). Submit written quotes on RFQ Number: VA256-17-Q-1028. (III) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-87. (IV) This solicitation is being issued as a Total Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside. The associated NAICS code is 333318. The small business size standard is 1000 Employees. (V) This combined solicitation/synopsis is for purchase of the following commercial services: MAJOR REQUIREMENTS: Specifications required for the equipment: The entire PAPR system must be CBRN approved by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Must run on NIMH rechargeable batteries The hood must be a loose fitting hood (not a tight fitting face piece) Hood must be butyl rubber Must have a field replaceable antimicrobial head strap Waist belt must be constructed of material such that it can be decontaminated Must have a backpack option for VA Police use At the time of purchase the system must not have any current component that has been discontinued or recalled. At the time of purchase replacement parts for the system must be available from the manufacturer and not discontinued or recalled.
