- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a fixed-price, sole source task order to the Boeing Company for the incorporation of Mode 5 and Mode S Transponder (RT-1912_(C)/APX) capability associated with Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 621C2, 'Incorporate Mode 5 and Mode S Transponder capability in F/A-18E/F Lot 21' under basic ordering agreement (BOA) N00019-16-G-0001. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, 'Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.' Boeing is the designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the F/A-18 aircraft in its various configurations; and as such, is the only known firm with the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise required to accomplish this effort. This announcement is for informational purposes only. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contract the Boeing Company directly.
