Description
Solicitation SB1341-17-RQ-0681 Spectrograph Amendment 002: The purpose of this amendment is to answer question. Question 1: What is the required f-number for the spectrometer? Answer 1: The f/# of the spectrograph shall approximately match the f/# of the input optical fibers. Question 2: What is the input fiber optics size and format at both ends (ie. single fiber with 100-um core)? Answer 2: We are looking for a bundle of multi-mode fibers with SMA connectorization on the input end. The connection into the spectrograph can be determined by the vendor. We would like that input ‘pinned,' however, for better repeatability. The core diameter of the fibers in the fiber bundle can be 50 um to 100 um. We would like enough optical fibers in the bundle to reduce sensitivity of the transmittance of the fiber bundle to small bends in the bundle. Question 3: Maximum allowable Stray Light (typically in terms of Point Source Transmission, typical value 1e-4) Answer 3: We would like a maximum stray light contribution of 1e-4 relative to the peak responsivity measured from +/- 3 * the Full-Width Half-Maximum spectral width of the In-band single pixel responsivity over the full spectral response of the instrument. Question 4: Peak and minimum diffraction efficiency. Answer 4: Peak diffraction efficiency should be a minimum of 70 %, with the peak wavelength shifted toward the blue range of the spectrograph. The minimum diffraction efficiency should be 40 % or higher. All other terms remain unchanged.
