Description
Lessor _______ Gov t. ________ Page 1 of 3 Page _____ of _____ June 30, 2017 CLARIFICATION #1 - SFO # VA101-15-R-0222 Traverse City, MI Verify Color, size, and Manufacturer for Fiber Cement Board panel system shown on elevations and sections. The Basis of Design used Vintage Wood horizontal fiber cement panels by Nichiha, USA, Inc. It is not required to use this product and the exterior materials should be proposed by the offeror. Verify if metal panel canopies are to be Zinc clad to match main building massing or is another material acceptable. The concept design used matching zinc clad to match the main building. It is not required to use this product and the exterior materials should be proposed by the offeror. Confirm clear height at canopy is to be 14 -0 for fire truck clearance. If so, should canopy height be raised for clearance to underside of radiant panels shown on elevations. Clearance height shall be 14 -0 minimum from concrete drive surface to lowest part of the canopy over the drive surface. Verify is screen walls at roof are required at rooftop mechanical units. No screens or mechanical units are currently shown on elevations or plans. See SFO section 6.2.5, E that states: Shield roof-mounted equipment from view. Roof structures, such as penthouses and architectural screens, shall be compatible in appearance with the material, texture, color, and shape of the building. Is there a way we can get PDF drawings rather than DWG drawings? The PDF version of the drawings, as well as the CAD version, were both uploaded to FedBizOpps on May 17, 2017. Item code M7405 on Schedule B is stated to be furnished and installed by contractor. That item code in the JSN catalog is stated to be Government furnished and install. Please state if it is to be by contractor or VA? Contractor furnished and installed. Item code M1802 on Schedule B is stated to be furnished and installed by contractor. That item code in the JSN catalog is stated to be Government furnished and install. Please state if it is to be by contractor or VA? Contractor furnished and installed. Item M2055 in Schedule B does not say if it is to be furnished and installed by contractor or VA. The JSN number catalog states for it to be furnished and installed by VA. Please clarify it is to be furnished and installed by VA? Contractor furnished and installed. Item F3200 in Schedule B does not say if it is to be furnished and installed by contractor or VA. The JSN number catalog states for it to be furnished and installed by VA. Please clarify it is to be furnished and installed by VA? Contractor furnished and installed. One location of item A5082, in Lobby/Reception Area, on Schedule B is listed to be furnished by contractor. Every other location is to be furnished by the VA. Please clarify that this item is to be furnished by contractor? Contractor furnished and installed. The logo shown in Pt09B PDF_Drawings.   Drawing number F1 on sheet A302 does not  appear to comply with Tier 1 graphic standards (508-0113) version 1 august 2012.   Per page 12 subject retired logos the one color logo with the slanted VA letters has been retired.   Please confirm the color version shown on the document set is acceptable or if the font shown on page 6 should be used on signage instead of the colored logo? Provide signage complying with Tier 1 graphic standards (508-0113) version 1 august 2012. When reviewing Schedule C we were having difficulty matching up our take-off with Schedule C. We noticed that some of the items were described as exterior as in exterior doors (Line Items 22-24) and would have thought anything exterior would have been a shell/owner cost. Please confirm. Exterior wall costs are part of the shell and should be included in the shell costs, with the exception of exterior doors, exterior wall finishes and window shades which are included in Schedule C. When reviewing Schedule C we found the interior block walls (Line Item 66) were listed. Because these walls were both part of the corridor and the mechanical room which are both part of Building Support we expected them to fall under the shell/owner cost. Please confirm. All interior partitions and finishes are included in Schedule C. Please confirm how the corridor partitions that fall under areas colored as Building Support should be priced. Is the entire make up of those walls all under Schedule C or is only the framing, insulation and drywall on the tenant side part of Schedule C and the layer or layers of drywall in the corridor part of the shell/owner cost? All interior partitions and finishes are included in Schedule C. Corridor walls are not split. Walls remain as units. Please confirm that the drywall on all exterior perimeter walls are a shell/owner cost. I do not see a partition description to match this type of wall in Schedule C. Correct. Shell cost. We cannot determine where the interior windows described in Schedule C (Line Items 16-21) and aluminum frame doors with full glass (Line Items 10-13) go in the building. Are these again describing exterior elements? Interior windows are the fixed lites around the glass doors in the lobby area and Vending. After contacting Midmark to get pricing for items in Schedule B I was told they have a special pricing agreement with the government and if I was to get quoted this pricing they would need a letter from you stating I could receive this special pricing. How should this be handled? Letter can be provided upon request to SRE after award. As shown in (Section 6.0), the VA Physical Security Design Manual provides the level of blast (W0, W1, and GP1) on a need to know basis, and we understand the standard definitions have recently been updated.   Please provide the definitions of W0, W1, and GP1 blast levels? VACO Also, Section 6.4.1 states that the roof structure should be designed to the vehicle threat level (W1), and the GP1 peak pressure and impulse limit (which caps the blast load) is not to be used at the roof.  The section also states that the W1 vehicle threat level should be applied over the roof structure regardless of a standoff distance.   This will ultimately increase blast forces from those used in the previous design manual.   We are requesting clarification on these items so as to not over-design the roof structure and to make sure all design teams are on the same page. VACO
