- Description
- The American Embassy in Lusaka has a requirement for a firm to construct/renovate an existing residential property. This construction effort is estimated between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00 and needs to be completed by January 31st, 2018, in the district of Lusaka Zambia. This work is to refurbish and renovate a residential property in Lusaka Zambia. All firms that respond to the solicitation must be technically qualified and financially responsible to perform the work. At a minimum, each offeror must meet the following requirements when submitting their proposal: ‘ • Be able to understand written and spoken English; • Have an established business with a permanent address and telephone listing in Lusaka Zambia; • Have the necessary personnel, equipment and financial resources available to perform the work; • Have all licenses and permits required by local law; Engineering institute of Zambia Certificate, National Council for Construction Grade 5 or better, Company certificate of incorporation and Tax Certificate. • Meet all local insurance requirements; • Have the ability to obtain a performance and guarantee bond and a payment bond, or to post adequate performance security, such as irrevocable letters of credit or guarantees issued by a reputable financial institution; • Have no adverse criminal record; • Have no political or business affiliation which could be considered contrary to the interests of the United States; • Have good experience and past performance records; and, • Identify specialized experience and technical competence required to complete the construction work in accordance with this solicitation. If a firm is interested in competing for this requirement, please provide a written request for a copy of the solicitation documents to the U.S. Embassy Lusaka, Stand: 694 lot: 100, P.O Box 320065 Lusaka Zambia. Email: Lusaka-GSO-Contracts@state.gov. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the lowest priced technically acceptable offeror who is a responsible contractor. The Government may award the contract based on the initial offer without discussion. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price type contract. All contractors have to be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database https://www.sam.gov prior to contract award pursuant to FAR provision 5.207.
