- VA786-17-R-0468 Amendment A00001 Additional Trees: The following additional trees are added to the solicitation for complete removal as follow: Loudon Park National Cemetery - Remove dead tree along fence / Section C headstone 1556 Baltimore National Cemetery - Remove dead tree / Section P headstone 210 Questions and Answers: I am hoping to find out if there is an incumbent contractor currently performing these services or if this is a new requirement. If there is an incumbent, could you please provide the contract number? Answer: No incumbent. This is a new requirement. Is there a bid bond or bond letter requirement? Answer: No, but as stated in the solicitation, the Government reserves the right to request performance and payment bonding as a condition for contract award. When is past performance due: at bid due date/time? or 2 days of proposal package submission? Answer: There was a typo in the solicitation. Past performance is due at time of proposal due date, which is 06/26/2017 at 2pm. Can we request a proposal due extension to Friday June 30, 2017? Answer: Not at this time. Can large wood be left in the woods on the other side of the fence at Baltimore National Cemetery? Answer: Yes Can debris be chipped into the woods? Answer: Yes Who owns the property on the outside of the fence at Baltimore National Cemetery? Answer: Varied owners, depends on location, and it is out of the scope of work, so no additional details will be provided. What time do the gates open and close. Answer: The left side of the gate opens at 6:30am and closes at 5:30pm. What is the ingress/egress for the fence line? Answer: Fence line is accessible from the cemetery side but not the other side (strongly recommend making a site visit to determine the space for proposed equipment) Is there space for equipment to be utilized behind the fence line? Answer: There is space for equipment on the cemetery side of the fence but not the other side of the fence, although the trees that need to be pruned that are hanging over the fence are accessible from the cemetery side. (strongly recommend making a site visit to determine the space for proposed equipment) If a tree needs to be removed behind the fence line and there is no equipment access, can the logs be left in place? Answer: Yes Can the contractor park/store the equipment to be utilized to perform the pruning/removal on site at Baltimore National Cemetery while the work is being performed or does all equipment have to be removed and brought back to the site each working day? Answer: Equipment can be left on site, but the cemetery is not responsible for any contractor equipment. Can debris generated be left on site for a short period of time while work is being performed or does the debris need to be removed from the site each working day? Answer: Debris needs to be removed each day and cannot accumulate onsite. What type of cover will be required for the headstones? Answer: Normally a plastic cover to prevent any branches or debris from hitting or damaging headstones where tree work may be occurring in close proximity to headstones.
