Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.5, with Resonon Inc. for one (1) Hyperspectral Imaging System for the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) located in Ann Arbor, MI. A Sources Sought notice was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on June 7, 2017 and closed on June 19, 2017. No responses were received. Justification for Sole Source The Hyperspectral Imaging System provided by Resonon Inc. located in Bozeman, MT 59715-2217, is the only source of this item based on GLERL has developed computer programs to decipher images from the Hyperspectral Imaging System. Additionally, under a previous acquisition a aircraft was modified to mount the Resonon Hyperspectral Imaging System and the government would incur significant expense to re-modify the aircraft to accommodate a different system.
