UNITED STATES OFFICE OF PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT Washington, DC 20415 OPM Security and Emergency Preparedness Expo “A Safer Workplace and Beyond” FOR INQUIRIES REGARDING THIS NOTICE, P LEASE CONTACT DaMITA JACKSON AT DAMITA.JACKSON@OPM.GOV. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is requesting your participation at our 2017 National Preparedness and Security Awareness Expo. This year’s theme is “A Safer Workplace and Beyond.” OPM Facilities, Security, and Emergency Management strives to provide continued safety and security awareness to our Federal Employees and to the General Public on subjects relating to, Law Enforcement; Social Services; Safety; and Emergency Preparedness/Response. Our Federal Employees live and commute in your jurisdictions. We are inviting you as a participant representing, Law Enforcement; Emergency Management; Social Services; and Non Profit Agencies. OPMs intent is to help our colleagues and the Public to bridge the gap between being secure at home; being secure during their daily commute; and being secure in the workplace. Federal Employees are eager to hear any security, safety, and emergency preparedness tips you have to offer. Participants will be seeking information on, home safety; commuter safety; Metro crime prevention; identity theft; domestic violence; emergency preparedness; home crime prevention; “sexting;” tourism safety tips; and the popular Law Enforcement Crime Prevention best practices. In addition, Emergency Management will be assisting attendees with creating an emergency plan for them and their family or others. Please join us on Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at 1900 E Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20415. We will provide you a table and chairs, the amount of space you require, and electrical power. We are planning to hold this event in front of OPM, the north side of 1900 E Street NW.
