- STATEMENT OF WORK Portable Recordable Endoscopy System 1.0 Description of what the equipment being requested is: Portable recordable Endoscopy equipment used to evaluate functional movements of the laryngeal pharyngeal areas in relation to swallowing assists in the planning and treatment of swallowing disorders. Important parts of the equipment are the Central Processing Unit, slimmer more functional cart, Light source, High-Definition Camera. Flexible and Rigid Endoscopes have already been purchased. The Portable Recordable Endoscopy unit must consist of the following: Portable light source Lap top 1.1 Description of how the equipment being requested operates: The Portable Recordable Endoscopy unit must be a stand-alone unit which is small and portable. A scope is attached at one end to a camera. The camera is attached to the Central Processing Unit which processes and records the laryngeal and pharyngeal areas of the throat for further review. The resulting images can be saved for providers to review. The digital exams are stored on the computer s hard drives where the exams can be reviewed with the patient and/or saved for later reference. The computer systems (i.e. hard drives) are not networked. 1.2 Where will the equipment being requested be used: Audiology and Speech Pathology clinic of the Carl T Hayden VAMC, Phoenix, AZ. 1.3 Who will be using the equipment being requested: All Speech Pathologists who are properly trained on the equipment. 2.0 Tasks: The Contractor shall perform the following tasks and provide all personnel, supplies, and parts to complete this effort. Installation of new system 2.1 The period of performance will be one month after receipt of award. 90 days ARO NOTE: Contractors can perform these tasks during normal duty hours, which are from 7:00am to 4:00pm. Contractors will be escorted by VA Employees at all times. Contractors will have absolutely no access to any kind of patient information at any time during the installation process. In accordance with Appendix A, Handbook 6500.6 Checklist blocks 7, the C&A requirements do not apply to this requirement, and Security Accreditation Package is not required. Due to the non-technical nature of this requirement, in reference to no. 7 there is no information to be protected.
