Description
Capability Statement - Automated fiber placement system preventative maintenance. STATEMENT OF WORK 1. Objective/Requirements Perform preventative maintenance service for the E3725 Robotic AFP System currently installed at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. This service is to cover one engineer for one week to perform any annual maintenance, software updates, and verification. Issuance of a support contract will also entitle NASA to on-site support for an emergency or work-stoppage situation in lieu of the preventative maintenance trip. 2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs The contractor shall perform the following duties: • Request complete issue list from NASA. • Select appropriate support staff for trip. • Gather tools, order consumables and repair parts. • Coordinate cell time with NASA and arrange travel accordingly. • Triage issue list with input from operators, maintenance, and production staff. • Complete inspection of AFP motion platform and process heads. • Perform complete software backup of initial state. • Complete maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on issue list as time allows. • Perform complete software backup of altered state. • EI personnel will witness operation of system to validate repairs and upgrades (minimum one shift, up to three days). • Readjust configuration if necessary based on observation of cell in operation. • Perform additional training at NASA's request. • Provide a recap of NASA's issue list. • Provide a summary of all work performed. • Provide inspection findings. • Provide a list of parts needed to be ordered. • Provide further repairs recommended. • Provide recommendations for additional training or changes in operational / maintenance procedures. • Perform Full Volumetric Compensation • Perform maintenance on two (2) High Clearance 8-Tow Roller Systems for 16 X ¼in Head to include: o Shear edge/triangle piece/scoop assembly, custom. o Compaction Roller and shaft, 8-tow, 2pcs. o High clearance pillow blocks, custom. o Implementation onsite during PPM, CGTech simulation update 3. Place of Performance MSFC in Huntsville, Alabama, building 4707 4. Period of Performance Maintenance shall be completed by January 2018.
