SCOPE OF WORK Catalog NumberDescription Quantity 81000Trima Collection System1 each 777-098-897Trima Seal Safe System1 each Period of Performance: October 1, 2017 Delivery Schedule: N/A Scope of Work: Trima Accel automated blood cell separators are required to replace the current COBE Spectras that are being phased out completely by the vendor on December 31, 2017. Our intention is to avoid any disruption in the care and treatment of patients who are treated at the NIH, as they do not have any other available treatment options. Having the new separators will ensure that our cellular collections will continue to support the clinical center patients and research efforts currently being pursued and allow for efficient and quality cellular collections. Objective: The purpose of this procurement is to acquire a new automated blood cell separator to replace the existing COBE Spectra Blood cell separators that have been in used for 30+ years. Terumo, Blood Component Technology (BCT) which manufactures the COBE Spectra has notified users that as of December 31, 2017, all sales of units, tubing sets, spare parts, accessories and maintenance support will cease. The DTM needs to have the new blood cell separators in place by October 2017 in order to allow for validation and training of staff prior to the end of 2017. Continuity is a must as these systems are essential for collections of cellular components for transfusion at the NIH Clinical Center. The Trima Accel system will allow diversity in the collection of transfusable components by apheresis.
