QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Digital Flatbed Cutter System RFQ-2017-006 June 1, 2017 Question 1:Please clarify Specification #1: "Flatbed Cutter system shall be able to cut sheets and rigid media materials up to 1/2 inch thick." Will you provide a list of the types of material that will be processed through the digital cutter such as styrene, softwood and hardwood, falcon board, etc? Answer 1:Currently we wish to process foamboard, pvc, vinyl, plexi-glass, and canvas. We would also like to keep our options open in the event we have an order for a different material altogether. For instance, we printed on a 1/2" thick piece of plywood but didn't have the ability to cut it, so we'd like it if this could be something we can now offer. Question 2: Please clarify Specification #2, 3 & 4: "Flatbed Cutter system shall be able to process and cut up to 48" wide x 96" length on 3/16 inch foam board/PVC/Plexi-glass of all shapes and sizes without ripping the foam board/PVC/Plexi-glass. Please list smallest size." Please clarify whether you mean the smallest size piece of material to be cut or is it the smallest size of material you can cut down to? Answer 2:With 48"x 96" being the biggest size sheet placed on the cutter, what would be the smallest size you could cut out of it. Question 3:Please clarify Specification #7: "Flatbed Cutter should have multiple tools for cutting different materials." Would this multi-tool feature be a single fixed unit equipped with multiple heads? Answer 3:Yes, this would be a single fixed unit with multiple heads. If you are not able to meet this requirement, please specify what your machine has and how long it would take to interchange the different tools.
