Description

NASA-AFRC intends to issue a solicitation for the following requirement within the next 30 days. NASA-Armstrong Flight Research Center intends to provide a new Vehicle and Air Ground Equipment Maintenance Facility. This facility is to be constructed in a Design-Build manner, while achieving a LEED gold certification. The project also involves the demolition of four (4) existing buildings adjacent to the new facility. At least 75% of the material from the demolished buildings will be recycled. The new building intends to house approximately 25 people in an area of no more than 27,000 square feet. The new building will contain shops, laboratories and testing, repair bays, office areas, training/conference room, restrooms, showers, locker rooms, lunch room, break room, and storage areas. Facilities that will be demolished and their associated square footage are as follows: Building Title Square Footage B4803 AGE Fabrication Shop 1,079 B4806 Garage/Battery Shop 10,036 B4809 Current AGE Facility 20,714 NB121 AGE Nitrogen Shop 960
