- Sources Sought Notice The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 17, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 17 is seeking sources for the following procurement: Item 0001 Contractor shall provide all necessary equipment, labor, facilities, supervision and non-personal services necessary to perform secure document destruction services for the South Texas Veterans Health Care System. Contractor shall perform final destruction of all materials. Final destruction refers to the process which temporary records are pulped, macerated, shredded or otherwise destroyed to a degree that ensures that they are not readable or can be reconstructed to any degree. Contractor shall accept white or colored paper, reams of paper, compact discs, paper clips, staples and films from the collection containers. Contractor shall dispose or recycle paper and other documents through a sensitive document/paper recycling program, or an alternate method of verifiable document destruction. Contractor shall, after destruction of materials, provide a manifest for each facility, verifying proof of destruction (by method) with the total volume and total weight. Contractor shall be National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) certified and/or shall complete a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with the VA prior to the performance of the services. Contractor shall maintain $1,000,000 liability fidelity (employee dishonesty) insurance coverage to protect the government in the event of disclosure of confidential information contained in the materials picked up by the Contractor. Document destruction services shall be conducted at/from 15 different VA facilities in the San Antonio, Texas area, the Kerrville VA Hospital Kerrville, Texas, and the Victoria VA Outpatient Clinic, Victoria, Texas. Scheduled services require 393 secure document consoles and thirty-six (36) 96 gallon secure document carts. Contingency requirement for the services consists of providing 10 secure document consoles, twelve (12) 96 gallon secure document carts, and twelve (12) 64 gallon secure document carts, as required. Period of Performance: Twelve (12) Months (MO), and Option Years; to be determined The NCO 17 is seeking sources from firms that have the capability of providing these services. Firms that can provide these services are encouraged to respond to the sources sought notice by contacting the point of contact. Capable firms must respond to the POC before the closing date and time of the Request for Information (RFI) to be considered. Interested firms must identify their company name and are asked to provide a capabilities statement (if available) with their response. This notice is NOT a formal request for quote or proposals. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. The information in this notice is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government. No contract will be awarded from this notice. Notice: Do NOT respond to this notice in the Interested Vendors List. The POC for the sources sought notice does not have a Federal Business Opportunities registration account. The POC does not have any visibility to the Interested Vendors List tab within the notice.
