- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contractors for the construction of the Emergency Gate Slot Repairs project, located within the Service Gate Tower at the Tully Lake Dam, in Royalston, Massachusetts. The NAICS code for the work described below is 238120 with small business sive standard of $15,000,000. The project is planned to be issued in June 2017, and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The construction will extend over a one-month period occurring in the summer or fall of 2017. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $150,000. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District. The location of work to be performed under this contract shall be at the Tully Lake Dam, located in Royalston, Massachusetts. The Contractor shall commence work under this contract within 15 days after the date of receipt of the Notice to Proceed, shall prosecute the work diligently, employing ample personnel and sufficient equipment, and shall complete the entire work ready for use not later than 120 days after the date of receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This project consists of the following components: • Dewater the conduit using the existing trash racks. There are two parallel conduits, and only one conduit will be dewatered at a time. • Remove and replace vertical steel rails and hardware from pre-existing gate wells for the emergency gates within the Gate Tower. These rails are held in place to the embedded steel C-Channels using anchor bolts. • Install steel sheet plates onto existing vertical T-sections using new bolts, also within the gate slots. • Remove lead-containing paint from the remaining C-Channels that are embedded in the concrete that make up the gate wells. Apply new paint to the embedded C-Channels. Containment will be necessary. • Once the conduits are dewatered and an inspection can be made, repair any concrete spalling in the conduit walls as needed. Please note this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a request for proposals at this time; the solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about June, 2017. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov).
